Dan Catley
School Onboarding & Engagement Coordinator

After finishing his degree, Dan decided that he wanted his work to be more meaningful and personal. This path took him from tutoring, to teaching English as a second language, working as a programme manager/coordinator at several ed-tech start-ups and finally to ImpactEd Evaluation. For him, the most important thing is that his work contributes towards helping people and he is particularly passionate about aligning this value with improving access to quality education for young people.

Rosie Dammers
Impact Partnerships Manager (parental leave)

Rosie has five years’ experience working as a history teacher and as head of department in secondary inner-city London schools. Before going into teaching, Rosie completed an MSc in Social Policy and Social Research at the Institute of Education, where she gained skills in quantitative analysis, and worked in data and insights in the education charity sector. Rosie is particularly interested in research methods in education, and passionate about bridging the gap between education theory and practice in schools.

Charlotte Dougan
Impact Partnerships Officer

Charlotte studied philosophy at King's College London whilst tutoring Maths, English and 11+ to students in the boroughs of Islington and Bromley. After graduating, she joined an EdTech organisation where she led a team of teachers to deliver coding and robotics programmes for schools all across London. Wanting to gain broader experience in the technology sector, she worked in a FinTech company that designed data analysis and report building softwares. Being passionate about education, and understanding the value of data, Charlotte is excited to contribute to ImpactEd's mission.

Kristy Evers
Director of Impact Partnerships (parental leave)

Kristy has a variety of experience across the education and impact evaluation sectors. She was a teacher in Singapore, worked as a (qualitative) researcher for a major educational publisher and spent several years at a start-up focused on research impact in the Higher Education sector across Europe, Hong Kong and Australia. Kristy has an MA in Education and Technology from University College London and is passionate about the impact and potential of educational technologies.

Saradia Hehn-McCahon
Impact Partnerships Officer

Saradia has recently completed her MA in Education and Psychology from University College London, where she conducted research on the efficacy of outdoor and nature learning. Before that, she worked in various capacities within the tertiary education sector as a tutor and course content developer for undergraduate courses in sociological and inclusive education.

Danielle Jones
Impact Partnerships Officer

Danielle has over 14 years of experience working in the Primary education sector working as a classroom teacher, head of department and SENDCo. She has led and implemented whole-school projects centered around improving social and emotional mental health in children as well as mentoring teaching students and Early Career Teachers. Prior to joining the ImpactEd team she worked with a leading Educational Publisher managing a product that aimed to support parents and educators. Passionate about improving mental health, Danielle also runs her own wellbeing and yoga business.

Alex Mathie
Impact Partnerships Manager

Before joining ImpactEd, Alex was a Project Officer in the Institute of Physics' education team, looking at ways to integrate research on student misconceptions into classroom practice. He studied physics and philosophy at Durham University, holds a Masters in philosophy and history of science from the University of Bristol, and is currently finishing a PhD in philosophy of physics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich.

Lauren Prodrick
Impact Partnerships Officer

Lauren's background has always been in Education as a former Primary School Teacher, Tutor and Early Years Curriculum Leader. Prior to joining ImpactEd Lauren took a year out to travel the world and during this time she taught English to students from ages 4-16 in Vietnam. Lauren is passionate about improving outcomes and life chances of children. Lauren began at ImpactEd as Onboarding and Engagement officer working closely on a project with the Department for Education.

Freya Robson
Impact Partnerships Officer

Freya started her career at ImpactEd having studied Architecture at the University of Cambridge. As well as mentoring students applying to top universities as a Tutor at an e-learning company with a focus on improving accessibility, Freya has numerous years worth of experience in youth work within sports at both domestic and international level.

Deepta Sunil Valliyil
Impact Partnerships Manager

Deepta  is an education specialist with 4 years of experience in education research and practice, specifically in the non-profit sector. She began her career with the fantastic team of social impact practitioners at Deshpande Foundation, Hubballi, India. She helped develop the foundation’s flagship K-12 education program – Skill in Village, by leading functions ranging from academic design to M&E and strategy. Prior to joining ImpactEd, Deepta was the Research & Impact Manager at Tender Education & Arts, a domestic-abuse prevention charity that employs arts-based methodologies for effective prevention education.

Nina Vafea
Impact Parterships Officer

Nina is a UCL Psychology graduate with a passion for alternative teaching methods, such as experiential learning techniques. Prior to joining ImpactEd, Nina worked for two years in academia. She evaluated a psychoeducational intervention for teenagers and conducted nationwide studies on mental health outcomes and health-related behaviours during the pandemic.

Beth Williams
Impact Partnerships Manager (interim)

Before joining ImpactEd , Beth worked at education charity The Brilliant Club on two different programmes. Prior to this, Beth worked for the Children's Commissioner for Wales conducting research and running workshops on Children's Rights across Wales. She is currently studying for a Masters in Human Rights at Birkbeck College and enjoys playing netball in her spare time.

Holly Waddell
Director of Impact Partnerships (Interim)

Holly began working in education as an English teacher before working at Teach First delivering their Leadership Development Programme in schools across the North West. Prior to joining ImpactEd, she worked in a social and economic research consultancy with a focus on education and skills. She has a Masters in Education from The University of Manchester and is currently a school governor.

Anaghaa Wagh
Impact Partnerships Manager

Anaghaa worked as a financial analyst before switching to her career in education. She has worked as a teacher, school leader, teacher mentor and researcher- working with schools, government and non-profit education organisations in India, Sweden and the UK. Before joining ImpactEd, she worked with ACER UK, focusing on education research and quality assurance of standardised assessments. Anaghaa has a master's degree in Education Management from King's College London. Anaghaa is also a community organiser and enjoys gardening and classic literature in her mother tongue, Marathi.

John Atkinson
School Partnerships Officer

John previously worked in primary schools for 8 years as a classroom teacher, subject leader and head of department. He has led multiple projects in both maths and P.E. to support whole school improvement.

Before that, John worked for international development charity VSO, as an Education Programme Development Manager. This meant working in partnership with organisations around the world, ensuring the skills of talented volunteers were best utilised to benefit those most in need.

Charlie Ellis
School Partnerships Officer

A qualified Maths & Psychology teacher, with a Masters in Educational Leadership, Charlie has over 12 years' professional experience across a wide range of educational organisations. In addition to having taught both primary and secondary, her school partnership experience includes working as a Young Apprenticeship Coordinator for a Sector Skills Council; as well as 4years at Enabling Enterprise specialising in supporting schools to embed systematic skill development across the curriculum. Most recently, Charlie has returned from 4 years teaching Years 5 - 8 in New Zealand.

Kelly Liles
Partnerships Support Coordinator

Prior to joining ImpactEd, Kelly passionately worked in the education sector leading English education projects and teacher training in Myanmar as a Peace Corps Volunteer, providing English and Maths tutoring instruction in high schools through the AmeriCorps Program in the United States, and providing youth voice and engagement consultation within the education charity sector in the UK. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi and she also recently completed her Masters in Philosophy in Education (Knowledge, Power, and Politics) from the University of Cambridge.

Kate Michaelis
School Partnerships Officer

Kate is a former Head of Year, where she oversaw the delivery of a year group strategy for 200 students, and secondary English teacher, having taught in a range of London schools. She has specialised in developing inclusive educational programmes for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Prior to that, she worked as a producer at a UK creative agency, where she managed accounts with global brands, and has also worked in policy research and evaluation. She holds a PGCE from Goldsmiths University of London and a first class bachelors degree from the University of Sheffield.

Lucy Preston
Head of School Delivery & Engagement

Lucy has worked in the education sector over the last 10 years. She has experience in school partnerships, edtech and evaluating programmes in primary and secondary schools through working in widening participation and as Programme Director at Learning with Parents. She began her career in the sector working as a Maths teacher and  mentor, and most recently worked in strategy at Teach First. She is also currently a school governor for a secondary in Bristol.

Ciara Sims
School Partnerships Manager (interim)

Ciara worked as a French and Spanish teacher before joining ImpactEd. Prior to that, she worked as a School Onboarding Manager for Third Space Learning where she helped deliver online Maths interventions to primary school children in disadvantaged areas of the UK. Ciara has a BA in French, Spanish and Italian from the University of Southampton and a PGCE from St Mary's University, Twickenham.

Owen Carter
Co-Founder and Managing Director

Owen has led the development of ImpactEd since inception. Prior to ImpactEd, he led research and evaluation projects at education charity The Brilliant Club, and developed a digital platform for teacher development at Optimus Education. He's a winner of the Teach First Innovation Award and was named one of PwC's 'Tomorrow's Business Leaders'.

Matt Bee
Full Stack Developer

Matt has worked as a software engineer for 16 years for a variety of companies as well as running his own business. Most recently Matt worked as a public sector consultant helping Ministry of Justice and Hackney Borough Council improve public services. Outside of working he enjoys mentoring less experienced developers and teaching primary school children programming skills in Code Club (as well as playing guitar and restoring his classic mini).

Trevor Brewer
Finance Director

Trevor is a chartered accountant with over 20 years’ experience in finance. He was Finance Director for BCS Consulting during its transition to employee ownership in 2018 and sale of the business to Accenture in 2021 where he successfully completed the post-acquisition implementation of finance and other operational processes. Trevor has worked in a variety of industries including financial services, travel and leisure and oil and gas and is looking forward to gaining experience within the education sector.     

Jennie Evans
Full Stack Developer

Jennie retrained as a software developer inspired by the possibilities of tech for good. Prior to learning to code, she was a fundraising and events manager and spent over ten years working for various charities including Centrepoint and Mind. She also has a background in education as a former maths teacher and is a current school governor at a community special school.

Charlotte Freeth
Operations Officer

Charlotte is an education professional with a background in teaching, pastoral student care and educational project management. Before joining us she was the Operations & Senior Programmes Manager for a specialist education company supporting Oxbridge university hopefuls. She is passionate about social mobility and improving outcomes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. She is studying towards a Masters in Education and Social Justice at Lancaster University in her spare time.

Sarah Knight
Full Stack Developer & Product Development Lead

Sarah retrained as a web developer following a career spent in publishing and animation, and hasn't looked back. She loves to use her programming skills for good, building applications that help people. Before ImpactEd, Sarah worked as a software engineer and technical lead for a digital consultancy and an online education and learning platform.

Hayley Reader-Curtis
Director of Operations & Executive Director

Hayley has worked in a variety of roles within the education sector including product development, curriculum management and operations. Prior to joining ImpactEd she oversaw the development and delivery of an online learning platform for the award-winning international education company Oxford Summer Courses, and worked for the EdTech start-up Learning Ladders, building products for schools and implementing operational processes.

Colin Robertson
Full Stack Developer

Colin Robertson is a software developer who has spent many years working on large-scale and high-traffic systems, and who has a deep interest in tools and techniques for improving effectiveness and well-being. He is excited to put his technical skills to use to help improve education and the school experience for pupils.
